Ashley Devick is a Chicago-based writer and editor. As a writer, she is focused on creative non-fiction, long form articles and business writing. She writes on a freelance basis for a variety of publications, including newspapers, magazines, trade publications and websites. Her editing background includes fiction, non-fiction, prose, news writing and essays. An added bonus is that she is also totally on board with the social media stuff and can send just about any message in 140 characters or less.
Ashley has a strong business background, with almost ten-years of experience in sales, business development, marketing, public relations and event planning. Her business experience includes, but isn’t limited to, writing press releases, case studies, newsletters, marketing materials and website content. She also works with small businesses to build stronger marketing campaigns, which includes utilizing best practices in Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Other hobbies include cooking, fantasy football, wandering, painting and making tiny flower arrangements. She is a self-proclaimed globetrotter and a taker of many pictures and a maker of many short films.
Ashley has a Masters in Journalism from the Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from the University of Tennessee.
